The Parking Spot develops, owns and operates near-airport parking in the United States stretching from both coasts with 36 locations at 21 airports. TPS the largest operator in the US because we have developed a very high customer service model that is unique in our industry. We have 1,800 employees nationwide and are in a major growth mode including new developments, acquisition/conversion, as well as expansion of existing assets.

Position Summary:

The Parking Spot is looking for a full-time, Chicago based, Project Manager “PM” with 4+ years of experience. This position will manage multiple development/construction projects; including new greenfield development, renovation/rebranding of newly acquired facilities, and expansion of existing properties. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with construction experience to mature into a real estate development role, under the guidance and mentoring of a senior real estate professional. This position will work closely with our Real Estate Program Manager, the Senior Vice President of Development as well as with our Asset Management, and Acquisitions teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure timely coordination and open communication amongst various design, construction, operations and marketing team members and optimize the correct allocation of contractual responsibility among development team members
  • Negotiate development team relationships and ensure proper documentation for all contracts; manage lender requirements
  • Regular tasks requiring consistent follow-up and execution, such as quality control, monthly draws, project tracking/reporting, and project closeout
  • Handle specific tasks including zoning entitlements/modifications, contractor dispute resolution and value engineering
  • Responsibilities will vary and change based on development team capabilities within the market and the project type

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or equivalent degree in Engineering/Architectural
  • 4+ years of experience in a similar role
  • Proven project management skills within the commercial construction/architectural design industry
  • Familiar with Microsoft Office including Excel, Project and/or other construction scheduling logic/software
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Solid organizational skills with the ability to multi-task while handling competing priorities and deadlines
  • Ability to travel to our facilities for project oversight
